Venue: Howaen Garden and surrounding historical sites

The Mito Hydrangea Festival is held annually from early to late June at Howaen Garden and Mito Hachimangu Shrine. This year marks the 52st edition of this historic festival.
At the main venue, Howaen Garden, around 6,000 hydrangeas of about 100 varieties bloom, while Mito Hachimangu Shrine features around 5,000 blooms of 60 varieties.
On weekends during the festival, the gardens will be illuminated at night, offering visitors a magical view of hydrangeas under the lights.
